| Footprints of a Pilgrim | The Life and Loves of Ruth Bell Graham By Ruth Graham Bell
Few women are as universally adored as Ruth Bell Graham, wife of world-renowned evangelist Billy Graham. Many admire Ruth's spunk, intelligence, and devotion to her family, but few have had the opportunity to get to know her through her own writings. While her husband traveled the world, Ruth spent many lonely nights baring her soul with pen and paper. Her daughter Gigi Graham Tchividjian says of these writings: "Mother reveals her personality in her prose, but she reveals her heart and soul in her poetry."
Footprints of a Pilgrim offers the unique privilege of walking hand in hand with Ruth Bell Graham as she retraces a few of the footsteps of her life. These pages weave together Ruth's prose and poetry in the context of her life story, with added insights and anecdotes from her family (husband Billy and children), as well as tributes from many of her friends (including Barbara Bush, Jan Karon, Patricia Cornwell, and others).
Footprints of a Pilgrim tells the story of a full life, complete with memories of joy, pain, brokenness, and healing. Ruth's sense of humor shines through the delightful stories of her romance with Billy, their young children's antics, and her own adventures in motherhood. Ruth's deep faith in God underlies her honest accounts of the painful years of parenting a prodigal son and facing the deaths of her parents, as well as her poignant reflections on aging. These stories are highlighted with many never-before published pictures that illustrate the remarkable journey of Ruth Bell Graham, as a child of missionaries in Quinghiang, China, until today at her home in Little Piney Cove, Montreat, North Carolina.
